Peter will also be responsible for the Benefice of St Ruan with St Grade and Landewednack.
Briefly: I am happily married to Jan and we have four (apparently) grown up children - and now our first grandchild, a little girl. Family is a big part of my life, as well as various pets including three dogs. In terms of work, having graduated in economics, I spent the first part of my life in banking, mostly in London and mostly in project lending supporting residential development. I was ordained in 2001 and most recently looked after six churches in the far east of Cornwall as well as being Rural Dean.
I was not born into a Christian family, but came to faith at 17. Nor have I been in the Church of England for most of my life, coming late to my local parish church in the early nineties. I have grown up in Christ in a number of settings and styles of church and discovered the glorious good news of God breaking into all of them.
I love prayer, worship and spending time with God in his word - and I love sharing this with people; preaching and teaching, and just talking faith and thinking together.
At a challenging time for church and society I remain convinced: that God is good and he is in charge; that Jesus' life, death, resurrection and ascension have the power to change lives and meet the deepest needs of all sorts of people; and that God hasn't left it to people like me (or us) to make this happen, but by his Spirit he is here doing it himself.
